I went away this weekend, sort of planned, mostly unplanned. Katie texted me on Wednesday saying her knee was doing allright and she was up for a visitor. So Friday afternoon I got in my car (which is great for a road trip) started listening to the book on tape (The secrets between us) and headed to Boerne. Can I just say I love weekends with Katie. Katie is just that type of friend. I connect so easily with her and we can go from talking about such serious stuff to such silly stuff in a moments notice. I never worry about what she is thinking about me because somehow I know she just loves me for me. I wish it was that easy with all my friends. Catching up was as if the last time I saw her was 2 days ago) We shopped on Saturday, starting out the day buying me a pair of jeans since I forgot mine) The weather was gray but perfect for girl time. We shopped and ate and went to the movies. We talked, we laughed, we remembered Hermosillo. That night I made dinner for her and her friend T.W. We watched Lost. We talked more, stayed up way to late. Today was a much brighter day. Katie and I went to an amazing little cafe in her town and had all you can eat breakfest. Then we, what else went shopping all along main street. Her town is just wonderful, totally small town and fits her perfectly.
The weekend was exactly what I needed. I turned off my cell phone and never once checked in with work and just re energized myself. I had a perfect weekend with a great friend.
