a simple girl in a complex world

{September 13, 2007}

I have spent the last 6 days in London and have come up with a few observations. London and probably Europe as a whole has travel down pat. I have been all over London, north to Windsor and South to counties in Surry. During my time here most of my time has been spent on the train or the underground. You can get anywhere on these rather than driving. It is nice to just board a train and read a book or a paper and then be at your destination. Two, Londoners enjoy the outside. Today I ate lunch at St. Pauls in the courtyard and hundreds of people were on their lunch eating, then later at hyde park and green park, the park is full of people just hanging out.
I like the idea of going to work on a train, and not having to drive on 635 and if the weather was ever not humid I would like to eat outside.
Well I am off to Amsterdam tomorrow morning and soon I will be back in Dallas. Maybe I will figure out how to post pictures. I had a great trip, my favorite place was by far Windsor Castle.

{September 12, 2007}   I am a little clumsy i think

So I am in London right now, and it is great. I have to take a few minutes to tell you all this story of what happened to me last night. Melissa and I were heading to Picadilly circle and decided to take the underground since we were currently at Shakesphere’s Globe theatre.. As we were walking down the stairs to the underground, I slipped or tripped and proceeded to roll down a few stairs, luckily this nice lady in front of me stopped me from going all the way down. I of course screamed all the way down, it was scary, and i defiently hurt, the next thing I know the underground workers are calling for first aid. Don’t worry I didn’t break anything, just black and blued my right side of my body. I hurt this morning, but we made it to Picadilly Circle and saw the showing of Mary Poppins. Just a little embarassed. I think I need to learn how to walk again.
